Celebrating International Yoga Day
The NSS Unit of GHSS Vettathur organized an International Yoga Day programme to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, mindfulness, and healthy living among students and volunteers. The event emphasized the significance of International Yoga Day and its global importance in promoting harmony and peace.
Guided Yoga Session
The celebration featured a comprehensive guided yoga session. Participants engaged in various yoga activities, starting with basic flexibility exercises and progressing to more advanced asanas. Special focus was given to breathing exercises (Pranayama) and meditation techniques, educating students on the profound health benefits of maintaining a regular yoga practice for physical and mental clarity.
Health Awareness Programme
Alongside the physical exercises, an interactive health awareness session was conducted. Experts discussed how incorporating yoga into daily routines can mitigate stress, improve concentration, and contribute to healthy ageing. The dialogue encouraged students to adopt a holistic approach to their well-being.
Campus Cleaning Programme
Demonstrating the NSS motto "Not Me But You", the volunteers extended the spirit of the day beyond personal wellness to environmental wellness. After the yoga session, a large-scale campus cleaning drive was organized. This activity aimed to promote environmental responsibility and cleanliness, ensuring the school grounds remain a pristine environment for learning and growth.

The International Yoga Day 2026 programme was a resounding success. It not only fostered a deeper understanding of healthy living and mental discipline but also reinforced the values of teamwork and community service through the subsequent cleaning drive.
